It is my pleasure to invite you to the Qatar International Pain Conference, which will be held at the Qatar National Convention Center between 29 and 31 of January. This is a must attend event for those with an interest in acute and chronic pain therapy. In recent years pain therapy has transitioned to an evidence-based practice. This conference will bring together likeminded experts from around the world to discuss acute and chronic pain management and it is also an opportune time to celebrate the birth of HMC’s Pain Unit, which will be part of our Neuroscience Institute. This bustling energetic environment will integrate state-of-the-art pain therapy with translational research and teaching.
We are confident you will find this conference stimulating and we hope it will be the beginning of an annual tradition where thought-provoking discussions will lead to cooperation across the region and beyond.

Department of Anesthesiology, ICU and Perioperative Medicine
Hamad Medical Corporation
A hearty welcome! In keeping with the massive explosion in commerce, trade, building and technology in Qatar, the Department of Anesthesiology, ICU and Perioperative Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation is working to establish and maintain the highest possible levels of care and performance for our patients. There has been an extraordinary amount of change within our Department and we are rapidly converting from a service department to an academic one.
With this in mind, we are delighted to invite you to join us in Doha from 29 to 31 January for this exciting event. Our aim is to bring together a first class international faculty that will establish a strategy for the clinical management, scientific investigation and analysis of pain supported by a solid evidence base. In addition, we hope you will agree that each session contains state-of-the-art presentations. Our faculty will include the best opinion leaders from the GCC, as well as international members from America, Europe and Australia.
Your cooperation and feedback is, of course, vital for the success of this and subsequent meetings. We welcome your comment about any aspect of the conference, at any stage. We look forward to having you spend time with us in Doha.
